About: Janelle Thomas
- Role : 2nd Grade Teacher
This is my 20th year of teaching 2nd grade at Messiah. Messiah Lutheran School was my first call after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. In 2008, I received my Master’s in Classroom Teaching from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I was younger, but having great Christian role models as teachers in grade school and high school helped me come to where I am today. God has blessed my life with loving parents and good Christian schools. I love working with students at this age because they are so eager to learn. I especially love teaching Christian character and about the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
My husband, Steve, and I have an eleven year old, Dahlia, and a nine year old, Violet. We are thrilled that they both attend Messiah’s wonderful program.
We live in St. Peters with our two children and two dogs, Georgia and Nola.
In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities, such as tennis, cycling, softball, running and participating in triathlons. My husband and I also love to attend concerts, Cardinals games, theater events, and traveling.
