We frequently hear, “There’s just something special about Messiah Lutheran School!” At the heart of our school is a wonderful blend of caring relationships and academic excellence grounded in our shared faith of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
MISSION STATEMENT
At Messiah Lutheran School we live to discover and share the love of Jesus Christ through a quality Christian education.
UNWAVERING FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
Discovering and sharing the love of Jesus Christ is the foundation of our school. We partner with parents to help students grow in their faith every day and challenge one another to grow in our faith, as well.
CARING RELATIONSHIPS
Messiah’s teachers and students have a mutual respect for one another that is a joy to see in action. We celebrate the uniqueness of each child and each teacher. We are not perfect, but we always seek to show grace to one another as Christ did for us.
REALIZED POTENTIAL & ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
At Messiah Lutheran School, we challenge students to their very best by focusing on the unique strengths of each child. Through innovative instruction methods and quality curriculum, our students excel. While test results are not the only gauge of student success, on average, Messiah students test 4.3 grades above their actual grade level. You can view our school fact sheet here. We do not teach for the test, nor do we make a big deal about testing with students. For students that need additional support or challenge beyond the classroom, we offer several opportunities for individualized instruction.
LEADERSHIP & POISE
As early as preschool, our students learn to be comfortable in front of a large and small groups by leading chapel services, sharing their thoughts and ideas in class, and participating in special concerts, projects, and activities. Each of the younger students have a chapel buddy with whom they sit for Monday morning chapel and the older grades collaborate with younger grades on special projects which creates strong bonds between children of all ages. In middle school, students take on a more significant leadership roles in Student Council, leading worship, and running technology and media. Our alumni are frequently recognized for leadership in high school and beyond.
MISSION OUTREACH
The kingdom of God is bigger than Messiah Lutheran School. We are a part of something bigger than ourselves , and we provide many opportunities for our students to be involved in mission projects. Each month, chapel offerings to go various organizations and we often have chapel speakers that help us learn how we can help people throughout the world. For Christmas, we enjoy making gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and each spring we have dozens of students shave their head and cut their hair for St. Bladrick’s day to help child cancer patients.
GOSPEL JOY & HUMOR
Although striving for excellence is often hard work, we believe that Christian joy is an essential part of a school ministry and of being a part of God’s family. We strive to make Messiah Lutheran School a fun place to be and go the extra mile to incorporate joy into our school every day!
